What we do

Children are assessed prior to the program commencing to determine their individual strengths. They are then placed in a group that is appropriate to their age and skill levels.

The program is run over nine weeks. Week One is a training and information session for parents and provides information on homework expectations and ideas to facilitate new skills.

Groups then commence in Week Two and run for an hour each. Groups include the following structured activities designed to facilitate social skills:

  • Conversation practice
  • Role playing
  • Social games

While children are enjoying the program, parents have the opportunity to meet over coffee.

At the end of each program there is a 15 minute feedback session for parents while children are supervised in play. At the completion of the nine week course, additional feedback is provided on each child, including individual recommendations.

The program is run during the school term. Contact the clinic for information on commencement dates.
