Melvin Speech Pathology is a paediatric speech pathology practice. We specialise in treating preschool and school aged children with developmental delays and specific language learning difficulties including:

• Unclear speech/articulation
• Expressive language difficulties
  
• Difficulty understanding/comprehension problems
• Auditory processing difficulties
• Assessment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders (including Asperger’s Syndrome)
• Dyspraxia
• Dysfluency/stuttering
• Integration funding assessments

Clinical services provided at the clinic include:

• Individual assessment and therapy
• Social skills groups using either the Interaction Skills program or the Talkabout program

Our clinicians have experience and training with:

• Lidcombe Stuttering Program
• Makaton
• PECS (Picture Exchange System)

Clinicians have also completed the following certificate courses:

• The Hanen program ie “It takes two to talk”.
• The More than Words program. This program is designed for children with Autism
• PROMPT technique for severe articulation problems
• PCI ie Parent Child Interaction

As a family centred practice, we focus on assisting parents to address their concerns about their children and to help their children reach their potential.

The clinic also has a resident clinical psychologist available for timely assessment and management of behavioural and learning difficulties.
